Description
AmeriCorps Office of Inspector General (OIG) investigated allegations related to American YouthWorks’ (AYW) Casa Verde Builders’ (CVB) AmeriCorps program, a subgrant under The Corps Network Opportunity Youth Service Initiative (OYSI). The allegations included that an AYW CVB Director directed AmeriCorps members (members) to conduct service activities outside of their member service agreements and work on projects for a business in which the Director had a financial interest. AmeriCorps OIG also investigated allegations that an OYSI Program Director was aware of the above claims, took no action, and actively participated in covering up violations; and AYW allowed two members to claim a week of service hours for time spent traveling out of state.
